ABOUT UPPER MEADOWS FARM

Begun in 1987, Upper Meadows Farm has been devoted to sustainable holistic agriculture. Joining the Certified Organic community in 1991, we have maintained certification ever since. Our primary goal is to demonstrate that a successful, sustainable  organic farm is a center of health and wellness within a community. From our beginning on 4 1/2 acres we have evolved to our current size of 153 acres, all certified organic. We have expanded our vegetable production from the traditional "kitchen garden," which remains as one of our fields, to over 12 acres today, that serve our CSA membership producing over 200 varieties of vegetables, herbs and fruit. We have hosted Montessori Schools, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Day Care Center Groups, Elementary Schools, and High Schools; offering from half day seminars to fully immersed events with three day/two night camping. We make hay when the sun shines and rotate our grain crops, which have been barley, oats, wheat, rye, spelt, flax, buckwheat, and corn. All our livestock are pasture based. We are always working to improve and expand our pasture which we consider the foundation of our agricultural health.
